Jerusalem Day has started in Israel! It is your call to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
As I read the book 1984 to my children, I watch as the methods proposed by George Orwell play out right in front of our eyes. The Palestinians are told to hate the Jews. They are told the Jews decided to take over the temple mount and will enter Jerusalem with their flags waving – a sure sign they are making their move. The hate mounts, the anger raging, stirred up just like hate week in the book 1984.
Of course, none of it is based in truth. It is all lies. The Palestinians (and the whole world) will pounce on this move of Jews approaching with flags flying, coming with a most evil intent.
But the problem – the truth – is that the Jews are doing what they do every year. Celebrating the liberation of Jerusalem in 1967. For over 50 years, Israel has memorialized this day with a parade of flags around the streets of Jerusalem. They don’t go on the temple mount. It is not about the temple mount.
But when there is hate to spread, truth is an irrelevant concept.
So, pray for the peace of Jerusalem until sundown tomorrow. Hopefully by then it will all be over without escalation from the lies being told and the hate sown. And without you falling for their deception.
I also am praying for the deceived, that their eyes will be opened to truth – to Truth, Who has a name Yeshua Jesus!
